For Such A Time As This

Guest: Dr. Laurence White

The myth of complete separation of church and state is often used to intimidate believers right out of the public forum. Hear an inspiring call from Dr. Laurence White to awaken to this danger and commit to making a difference in our nation. Dr. Laurence L. White is the Senior Pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas. Our Savior is a growing congregation on the northwest side of Houston, where its church and school are located on a magnificent 46 acre campus. The congregation is resolved to demonstrate that it is possible to move forward aggressively in mission while faithfully maintaining a steadfast commitment to the doctrine and practice of historic Lutheranism. Our Savior has played a leading role in the struggle to preserve the confessional integrity of the Lutheran Church B Missouri Synod. Dr. White is the author of Life With God - A Survey of Biblical Doctrine. Life With God has been translated into Russian and is being widely used in mission churches throughout the former Soviet Union. Pastor White is one of the founders and the current Chairman of the Greater Houston Area Pastor's Roundtable, an organization designed to increase pro-life, pro-family Christian participation in the American political process. He is also National Co-Chairman of Vision America, working to inform and involve Christian pastors in the great moral issues of our day. Pastor White is a regular speaker for national pro-life, pro-family organizations like James Dobson's Focus on the Family, D. James Kennedy's Reclaiming America, Beverly Lahaye's Concerned Women for America, Jerry Falwell's National Committee for the Restoration of the Judeo-Christian Ethic, and the California Restoration Project. In that connection he has had the opportunity to address millions of Americans through national radio and television broadcasts and has spoken to nearly 50,000 pastors across the nation. Pastor White also serves on the National Advisory Board of the Family Research Council. In 1997, Pastor White was awarded a Doctor of Divinity degree by Liberty University of Lynchburg, VA. in recognition of his efforts on behalf of the pro-life movement. Dr. James Dobson had this to say of Pastor White and his message: AI don't know of a message anywhere, anytime, that I have heard in my entire life that has expressed that thought better than Dr. Laurence White. The truth will never be articulated any more effectively than what we heard today. Pastor White's message touches me all the way to the soul of my being...Again, to Dr. Laurence White, thank you for the passion that we felt and heard today. Everyone ought to hear this message. Dr. Jerry Falwell describes Pastor White's role with these powerful words: ALaurence White is one of God's modern day prophets, a Peter Marshall for our time. If he had been alive 500 years ago, he would have stood beside Martin Luther, nailing the 95 Theses to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany, to initiate the Protestant Reformation. Laurence White is bringing a message of righteousness to America. Pastor White is married to Deborah Sue Hartman. They have three adult children, Adam, Aaron, and Sarah and one grandchild, Christian.
